Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Common Concerns

Absolutely not. Just come as you are.

No, you don’t need any improvisation, theater or public speaking experience at all to take this course. In fact, most people who participate have little to zero experience in any of the above.

Improv is just one of many disciplines utilized in Playful & Painless Confidence. The program involves games, purposeful play, compassionate communication, brain science activities, introspective-discussions, gentle movement, improvisational techniques, and ample outlets for creative expression (and even some theatrical creativity, if you so desire).

That being said, improv is our natural state. What most people don’t realize is that we are improvising 24 hours a day/7 days a week. This course gently helps you get out of your own way so you can more easily tap into your natural flow and live to your potential.

Zoom Fatigue?

Playful & Painless Confidence is not your typical online course. Unlike most Zoom experiences, you will not be sitting in front of your computer screen just listening to an instructor teach you (while occasionally speaking up yourself). Rather, this is a highly interactive group experience that requires you to be fully present. The course includes movement, games, creative expression, laughter, and you participating in fun ways that counter the typical catalysts that contribute to screen fatigue.

The majority of our participants have shared that they don’t feel zoom fatigue from partaking in our programs and instead feel a boost in energy and happiness each week.

About The Course

Our PLAYshops (what we call our weekly sessions) feel kind of like a game night that you play with your friends and family, but with a personal development touch to it. There are group games, brain science activities, fun collaborative exercises, self-reflections and lots of laughter and community discussion and support.

The short answer is yes, absolutely, you will still benefit from taking the course if you can’t do the weekly modules/assignments. But those of you who do complete the weekly modules (which include brief weekly reading assignments, journaling, and confidence-building exercises) will benefit exponentially more.

We understand that life happens and sometimes you can’t make a session. While we highly recommend that you try and attend all of the sessions, you will still receive tremendous benefit if you have to miss a class – or even two. But we don’t recommend that you register if you know in advance that you will miss more than that. The more commitment that you invest into this course, the more you will get out of it, and attendance is obviously a big part of the program.

All that is required is a laptop (or desktop) with good wifi connection, a web-cam, a journal (or paper to write on), a pen or pencil, and a private space to join us from weekly. Access to a mirror to look at yourself will be helpful for one of the week’s activities, but not required.

Absolutely! In some ways, it’s even more potent. There’s something powerful that takes place when you are looking at yourself on camera while going through this amazing personal development journey. Truth is, many of us have insecurities that we are dealing with, and no matter how hard we try to hide them from others, they still come across in both conscious and subconscious ways. It shows in our body posture, our voice, our level of eye contact, our energy levels etc. However, when we are witnessing ourselves during the process, it allows for these insecurities to come up in a safe environment in order for us to address them.  PLUS, you get to meet wonderful people online that you may not have met otherwise.

Who Should Take Playful & Painless Confidence?

Absolutely. Many of our participants are introverts. In fact, our curriculum is designed to help introverts step outside of their shell in a safe and nurturing environment.

Are you kidding? 🙂 Of course it is! Lots of playing, games, laughter, movement and fun. It will be right up your alley.

The short answer is that it’s great for anyone (18 yrs and above) who is playing small in any area of their life and holding themselves back.

This course often includes a mix of introverts, extroverts, entrepreneurs, creatives, executives, coaches, teachers, personal development seekers, artists, performers, computer programmers, millennials, marrieds, singles, and everyone in between 🙂

Additional Offerings

Yes, we do. It is a deeper dive for those who want to continue developing their confidence even further. In Level-2, we play more with characters, skits and other forms of self-expression as tools for personal growth.

Yes, Level-1 is a prerequisite for Level-2.

Absolutely, you can take it as many times as you would like. It never gets old. Each time you take it, your experience will be unique as the exercises and games are designed to reflect whatever it is you are going through in your life at the time. Some participants prefer taking the course a second time versus moving up to Level-2.
